xo-tree St. Cyprian wants to join in partnership with you and your child as they grow in the Catholic Faith.  Therefore, we offer formal religious formation classes from grades one through eight taught by experienced and certified catechists. Classes are offered for grades 1 – 5 on Monday evenings from 6:15-7:30pm.

An alternative to weekly religious formation classes, the Family Program (for grades 1-5) meets once a month on the second Tuesday from 6:30-8:00pm from October through May for prayer, formation and activities.  The balance of faith formation is done by the parents in the home.

Younger children ages 4-10 years are invited to attend Children’s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) during the 9:00 and 11:00 am  masses.  CLOW is offered from September through May at the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Liturgy.  Children rejoin their families for the remainder of the Liturgy.

The children from the age 7 years are invited to begin the Sacramental prep classes for Reconciliation and First Eucharist. These classes meet on the third Tuesday of the month.  Children attending a Catholic School or the Religious Formation Program participate in a family preparation program for these sacraments.  The celebration of First Reconciliation is in Advent; First Eucharist is celebrated in the Spring.  Contact the Religious Formation Office for more information:  (734) 283-1366 x118.

The Middle School Program (grades 6-8) students have a more flexible schedule. Classes are offered on Mondays from 6:15 – 7:30 pm for 6 week sessions or on Saturdays from 9:30 – 11:30 am for 3 week sessions.  A variety of materials are used to cover issues ranging from traditional topics such as Exploring the Bible to special and sensitive topics such as Making Tough Decisions.  Students must attend 3 session per school year to have fulfilled their requirement.

Confirmation Preparation begins the in spring after the end of 8th grade. The candidates are confirmed in the winter of 9th grade. (see handbook for more details in CONFIRMATION RESOURCES)
