
St. Cyprian Church is fortunate to have a dedicated staff of experienced professionals who, under the leadership of Pastor Marc Gawronski guide the many ministries offered here.
In keeping with the spirit of Vatican II, our parish utilizes lay ministry to the fullest. These short biographies will acquaint you with the professional staff who serve you and this parish. Please feel free to contact the staff with questions or concerns.
Rev. Marc Gawronski joined St. Cyprian Parish July 1, 2020. He was ordained in 1991, and holds the following degrees: an A.B., M.T.S., M. Div. , M.A. College of Liberal Arts and School of Theology, Liturgical Studies. A.B., (Psychology), University of Michigan, 1984; M. Div. and M.T.S., St. John Provincial Seminary, Plymouth, MI. 1989; M.A. (Theology [Liturgical Studies]), University of Notre Dame, 2003. He has served as Pastor most recently at St. Gabriel Parish in Detroit
For the past 24 years, Fr. Marc has served the Hispanic Community in Detroit and in Monroe. He has taught courses at Sacred Heart Major Seminary and SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in English and in Spanish. He has served on the Presbyteral Council for three terms and is currently the Chairperson of the Archdiocesan CSA Steering Committee and has served as Vicar in the Southwest and Monroe Vicariates.


Mrs. Stacey Sutowski-Shurtz rejoined the staff of St. Cyprian in 2008 as the Director of Elementary Catechesis and Youth Ministry. She has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Wayne State University. She is a certified catechist through the Archdiocese of Detroit and will be pursuing her masters with a concentration in Spirituality and Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
Denise Gorski joined the St. Cyprian pastoral staff in August 2017 and is our Director of Evangelization & Adult Formation. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University, a Lay Ecclesial Ministry Certification as an RCIA Coordinator with the Archdiocese of Detroit, and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies degree from Sacred Heart Major Seminary. She has served in lay ministry for over 25 years in a variety of parish leadership and ministerial positions and is a member of the National Association of Lay Ministry (NALM).
